Donors & Supporters

Utah Pioneer Heritage Arts, as a public benefit 501(c)(3) nonprofit company, has blossomed because of the ongoing donations and support of a wide variety of donors and supporters. We give special mention to the following:

This program is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities and Utah Humanities as part of the American Recovery Plan (ARP) Act. Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this {article, book, exhibition, film, program, database, report, Web resource}, do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities or Utah Humanities.”

As it states in our By-laws:

Section 1.1. Objectives and Purposes: The objectives and purposes of this Corporation shall be to gather and curate the pioneering stories of the State of Utah and present them using the entertainment arts, to the end that those stories heal families and communities and turn the hearts of the rising generation to their ancestors and predecessors—to the principles, values, and practices that will help the rising generation thrive and contribute to Utah’s heritage.

Since 2008, we have been gathering the stories of Utah’s pioneering heritage. Not just the covered wagon pioneers but ‘pioneering’ in its broadest sense – reaching out to embrace Utah’s complex culture.

We have been curating those stories to identify which ones will have the greatest impact, then presenting them through the entertainment arts – through storytelling, songs, and visual art – to touch the emotions of our audiences.

This work continues to be a powerful means of connecting individuals and families to their heritage, of giving them a stronger sense of community, and providing the inspiration and motivation to strengthen family ties.

Those family ties become the glue that builds resilience for this rising generation. Our leadership and our Board of Directors are dedicated to this mission. After all, we as parents and grandparents, recognize that we’ re responsible for building individuals with-in our respective families, to help them become dependable and trustworthy, kind and considerate, confident and powerful, good friends to others, and good citizens within their communities.

We dedicate our time and talents to creating Stories that Stick, Heritage that Heals, and Heritage Tributes to connect our audiences to the heroes of our past and those still with us today, and to inspire the heroes of tomorrow.

Donate to Utah Pioneer Heritage Arts

Utah Pioneer Heritage Arts is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public benefit nonprofit entity. Therefore, all donations made to it are tax deductible. To sustain our storytelling efforts, we rely on foundation grants, individual donations, and payments for educational services rendered.

We are governed by a board of directors who help us ensure that we are good stewards over the funds that are committed to us.

We are grateful for your donations, and assure you that every gift is used with great care.

Heritage Tribute Scholarship Fund

The best stories — the most valuable ones — are about the people in your own family; the people you love. A Heritage Tribute can help you introduce that special honoree to your children and grandchildren. Those stories are valuable because they are part of your personal heritage. They are told in audio and video formats, even with reenactors to help bring the characters in the story to life. As a result, the cost can be prohibitive for some families. That’s why we have initiated a Scholarship Program to pick up some or even all of that cost.

Here’s How it Works

Donations to this fund can only be used to help individuals and families who qualify for a scholarship. We divide up these scholarships into two categories:

1. The 80/20 Scholarship fits most families’ needs. This is where the individual or family pays for 80% of the total cost and the scholarship fund picks up the other 20%. Often, it’s that 20% that raises the production level enough to make all the difference in how much impact that tribute has within the family. This level of support must be approved by our Scholarship Committee.

2. There are circumstances where the individual or family qualifies for more, even up to 100% coverage from our Scholarship Fund. This higher level of support must be justified by a combination of factors approved by our Board of Directors.

Applicants for either level must submit an essay covering a variety of points in order to qualify.
